Dr. Thanh-Nam Doan is Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of UrbisIQ, and a Senior Software Engineer (AI) at Natera.
At UrbisIQ, he leads system architecture and MVP delivery for interactive multi-camera tracking, and builds the MLOps, evaluation, and conversational orchestration infrastructure. At Natera, he develops and deploys AI systems to support large-scale laboratory operations.
A PhD-trained AI and machine learning leader with more than 10 years of experience in machine learning and data science, specializing in large-scale AI systems, computer vision, and natural language processing, driving real-world deployment of interactive, multi-camera tracking platforms and production-ready AI pipelines.
He oversees end-to-end AI architecture, model development, and MLOps infrastructure, and leads the delivery of conversational and human-interactive AI systems for real operational environments.
Previously, Dr. Doan served as a Data Science Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University at Albany, where he led applied research in traffic analytics, computer vision, and reinforcement learning for smart-city systems.
His work included multi-camera vehicle detection and tracking using deep learning, real-time traffic dashboards for Chattanooga, reinforcement learning for traffic signal control and CO₂ reduction, and large-scale data systems for urban mobility analytics.
